Caroline is an experienced employment and industrial relations lawyer with expertise across a range of industries including manufacturing, mining, rail, gas, construction and education. Caroline’s work involves providing strategic industrial relations advice, advising on negotiations for enterprise agreements, drafting enterprise agreements and preparing for and responding to industrial action.
Throughout her career, Caroline has advised both employers and senior employees on termination of employment matters, represented clients at conciliation conferences and arbitrations for unfair dismissal claims, general protection claims and discrimination claims. In addition to these matters, Caroline regularly assists senior employees to negotiate non-litigious resolutions to various workplace issues, prepare for workplace investigation processes and formal interviews conducted by regulatory inspectors.
Caroline has significant experience in regulatory prosecutions – both civil penalty proceedings under the Fair Work Act as well as workplace health and safety prosecutions. Recently, Caroline acted for an employee who was prosecuted for alleged breaches of the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004. After making multiple submissions to the Prosecutor, the Prosecution wholly discontinued its prosecution against our client.
